The Vol2 method is divided into six chapters, each of which corresponds to a different flamenco style, or palo. These are the Sole\u00e1, Guajira, Seguiriya, Alegr\u00edas, Fandango, and Colombiana.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each of these contains:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0Rhythmic Section \/ Analysis and description.
\n1). Relevant explanation.
\n2). Basic pattern of the palo.
\n3). Ways of feeling the pulse.
\n4). Basic structure, Harmonic Rhythm, Accents.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0Basic pattern.
\nDifferent developments of the patterns.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0Complete rhythmic cycle or comp\u00e1s.
\nSample of the comp\u00e1s and traditional accompaniment with the most developed basic pattern. Pertinent explanations are given on the notes signalled in each stave.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0Falseta.
\nSample of an original falseta (short musical phrase performed by the guitar) combining basic comp\u00e1s with personal creation. Contains the section “Analysis of form and content in the bass line.\u201d<\/p>\n

–\u00a0Falseta solo.
\nThe same falseta from its corresponding palo of the chapter, but mixed and produced in the usual way, with the normal stereo panning of original music.\u00a0The metronome is muted for the same reason. The idea behind including this mix is to show the student how the music would sound in an edited recording.<\/div>\n

The book also contains two sections, which explain:
\n1). Study guide.
\n2). Resources for the development of ideas in bassline compositions.<\/p>\n

Traditional music notation is used, along with chord diagrams and TAB for four-string bass. In the falsetas there is no TAB.<\/p>\n

Several audio options for the bassist to practice<\/p>\n

In the chapter on Colombianas a complete transcription of Paco de Lucia\u2019s composition called Monasterio de Sal is included. This is a key piece at the beginning of what today we can call the Flamenco Bass..Spanish, English<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
