Description
The book “Canción Andaluza“, transcribed by guitarist David Leiva, was published on the tenth anniversary of the death of Paco de Lucía.
The Algeciras guitarist’s deep connection with the copla, which marked his childhood, is reflected in his latest album, released posthumously in 2014 as a tribute to the sounds that influenced him from an early age.
In this album, Paco de Lucía puts his distinctive stamp on eight classics of the Spanish copla, mostly composed by the poet Rafael de León. These classics retain their original essence and revitalize the sentimental memory associated with them. This album constitutes a flamenco reinterpretation of intrinsically related music. “Canción Andaluza” definitively embraces the fusion between copla and flamenco.
